Head of South Korea held telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Ethiopia
On 30 March, South Korean President Moon Jae-in had a telephone conversation with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, with whom he discussed the topic of helping African countries combat coronavirus, as addressed at the G20 video summit. This is reported by KBS with reference to the representative of the administration of South Korean President Kang Min Sok. According to him, the head of South Korea expressed concern about the spread of coronavirus across the African continent, and also noted that South Korea will take an active part in supporting countries. In turn, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia expressed gratitude to Moon Jae-in for his desire to provide support, and also noted that coronavirus is currently damaging the economy of the country and Ethiopia needs knowledge and experience of the Government of South Korea. The representatives of the two countries agreed on the need for joint efforts against coronavirus and also agreed to continue working with the international community on this issue. Moon Jae-in also expressed gratitude to the Government of Ethiopia for its assistance in transporting the South Korean Hanbit Unit from South Sudan and requested assistance from South Koreans living in Africa in returning home through Ethiopia.
