Georgia raised salaries of police, doctors and social workers
Since July 1, Georgia has increased salaries for certain categories of police officers, emergency doctors, rural doctors and nurses, social workers, Georgian Prime Minister Georgy Gakharia said at a government meeting on July 2. According to him, these are those people who daily take care of Georgian citizens and their health. The prime minister also recalled that since July, the pension for citizens over 70 years old has increased by 30 lari and amounted to 250 lari. And the pension of residents of highland regions increased to 300 lari. It is extremely important that at the same time as the increase in the pension, such legislative amendments have been adopted, on the basis of which the annual increase in the pension will be tied to the indicator of economic growth. This once and for all, the issue of the pension of our citizens will never become the subject of political speculation, Gaharia said.
