US may increase gas exports to NATO allies

The United States has prepared a bill calling on Washington to increase gas supplies to the European Union and NATO allies in order to reduce their dependence on Russian gas. It is reported by RT with reference to the document. It is noted that congressmen Carol Miller and David McKinley prepared the corresponding bill. The explanation of the project states that increasing American gas exports will contribute to the energy security of United States partners. In addition, the authors of the bill believe that Washington needs to reduce Moscow's economic and political influence, since Russia allegedly uses fuel resources as a geopolitical weapon. According to the news agency, earlier the House of Representatives of the US Congress approved the draft defense budget for the next fiscal year. In accordance with the document, the administration of US head Donald Trump should tighten sanctions against Russian gas pipelines Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream. Their introduction was stipulated in the military budget for the current financial year, signed by Trump in December 2019.
