In France, the mayor of Sanary-sur-Mer sentenced to half a year in prison

The criminal court announced the verdict to the mayor of the commune of Sanari-Sur-Mer, accused of the improper interest of a public person in gaining profit for himself, embezzlement of state money, in economic and financial crimes. By court verdict, Ferdinan Bernard was deprived of civil rights for 5 years. His real estate, against which a criminal case was opened, will be confiscated. Mayor's lawyer Julien Pinelli has already stated that he and his client will appeal the court decision. According to the news agency, on September 3, the Paris prosecutor's office confirmed that in the spring of 2021, ex-President of the French Republic Nicolas Sarkozy will again appear in court in the case of intentional excess of campaign finance.
